Great app!

I love this app! I think it’s simple and very user friendly! The only thing I would change is the ability to have more than the 3 “recent” medications. Daily I have to search the list for my daily medications instead of them being more easily accessible. But over all I love the app!

Baby #2

I really enjoy the app. As a first time mom, I wished there was more info because I was checking it daily almost twice a day lol. But as #2 approaches and we are using the app again. My only complaint is the baby size comparisons. They feel like they are all over the place and many items I don’t even know, making comparing very difficult. It would be better to say that “baby is as long as”… I also think the fruit sizing will be completely different than the size comparison for the fun&games section. Or the week prior is seemingly larger comparison items than this week. It can be disappointing when waiting all week to see the next weeks report.

Great app, way too many ads

Informative and easy to use. The ads are excessive and annoying.

I wish it would do a better job with multiples!

There is a place to report that you are having multiples and there is a little link to click for more information, but I really wish it would switch pronouns to they/them and pop that information in your feed. It might seem like a little thing, but it feels like one of my babies doesn’t exist! It’s hard enough having a multiple pregnancy I just want to not have to do extra work to learn about it.

“His”

Constantly refers to our <6 week embryo with male pronouns… please change that! Once I know the sex of the baby and confirm that on the app, sure, but stop saying “his” arms and “his” nostrils when we’re months away from knowing sex and it could very well not be a boy.

Hot mess express

This app is such a mess of random info and ads, and it creeps me out that they require so much personal info to make an account, including what state you live in and your height / weight. There are other free apps that are cleaner and less creepy!

It's amazing

It has everything a first time mom would need. Its convenient, reliable, user friendly, easy access and quite informative. Only wondering if it does track each pregnancy and knowing or recognizing patterns/symptoms of each from one user? That would be outstanding. A definite keeper. Now on my 6th pregnancy, and having twins, I wish the app would have not just a link to multiple pregnancies but an actual options with multiple pregnancies, twins, triplets, quads etc.. it’ll be nice to have these features.

I am not a “birthing person”

I find it incredibly demeaning to be referred to as a “birthing person”. I do not identify as that and I do not wish to be called that. It is unfortunate that this is such a good app other than having this problematic language. But unless I can opt out of being called a “birthing person” I can’t use it anymore.

Great app! Needs a dark mode

I like the app. Great insights each week. I just wish it had a dark mode. It’s way too bright

Grooming

The LGBQ stuff is way too much and teaching parents to groom their children to be gay

Best

Best pregnancy app I have found. Most comprehensive. Every question I have ever had I can get answered here.

App doesn’t show info

App doesn’t show info I’ve input multiple times for this current pregnancy , it just has the calendar available which is a huuuge help

The Best

Pregnancy app around

Need more options

There should be more options to tailor ads and registry checklist items. For example, if a woman is not going to breastfeed (and believe it or not, some of us do not want to. We know we’re 100% not going to do it before we give birth. One reason: it’s gross.) So it’s annoying to keep seeing feeds repeatedly for the pumps, and nipple cream, and breastfeeding stuff. Never going to happen so use that space for things that are actually relevant. Or just stop with the feeds and use it for things like diapers that will actually affect every baby.

Love it

This app is very helpful

Incorrect Language

I’m not a birthing person, for that you get 1 star.

DO NOT TRUST

I used this app for both of my pregnancies. I just found out that they require you now to identify what state you live in. Do not download. Do not trust. Very disappointed and disgusted with Ovia who does not care about woman’s health!

No option for dad to follow progress?

I’ve been poring over this app to determine how I can follow my wife’s progress while our new little one develops and grows. I don’t want to receive once-a-week or daily email updates; I would like to have synchronized access to the various literature and articles for expecting parents during pregnancy. I can’t create an account without entering pregnancy details, but I’m the dad and not the one that’s pregnant! I shouldn’t be forced to enter info like that, but the app doesn’t allow any other option. Even when prompted to create an account from the email that comes from my wife’s app (she added my email address in the “Family” section), I am still required to enter pregnancy details as if I’m creating my dad account as an expectant mother. Please fix. We both like to be involved in our childrens’ lives, and that includes pregnancy. Trying to support her through this app, but this hitch makes it difficult.

Does not work

I wanted to use this app this I did last pregnancy but it does not work, I uninstalled and reinstalled and still it does not work- I put it the info and save but nothing saves- it’s disheartening to see it say nothing to be seen here when there is indeed something that should be seen!

Disappointing

Censorship is strong. You better be all about every government recommendation for your baby or the app will censor you…

“Birthing person”

App using terms like “birthing person” which is incorrect. ONLY women can give birth.

Constant glitching

I love the app when it works, but it frequently glitches out on the day of the week that the baby size changes so i can’t even see it for 24+ hours. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling there’s just an annoying bug that makes it frequently freeze

Uses language like pregnant persons

I’ve used this app since having my first baby in 2018. I’m now in my fourth pregnancy. I think the app is the best pregnancy app but I’m very disappointed in the language the app now uses. For example, I just read that if my “baby is female, THEIR ovaries are starting to develop.” Not only is this grammatically incorrect, but my baby has no concept of gender so why not use “her.” The use of “pregnant persons” is also insulting to the inherent dignity of women. Only women can get pregnant. Period. Full stop. If you are pregnant, you are a biological woman. This app, like other politically motivated groups, is contributing to the erasure of women and insults their bodily dignity. It is part of the patriarchy they have decried for so long, only to give into a new wave of “victims.”

Redundant

Every time I open the app one of the notifications says ‘just a reminder, Ovia is here to provide guidance. For medical advice please consult your provider.’ Like no duh. It’s condescending blasting that every time you use the app.

Dangerous app

This app requires first name, date of birth, country, and state. This is enough to track you and prosecute you if authorities suspect you had an abortion or miscarriage. Delete your account and data and delete this app.

Requires state of residence

Requires state of residence. Do not use.

why is the app referring to my baby as a “she”?

i don’t like that i don’t know the gender yet the app is already referring to my baby as a “she”. takes away the suspense if it actually is a girl but also annoying if it’s a boy and it’s been referring to it as a girl this whole time. hopefully the app fixes this very simple yet odd mistake considering the entire purpose of the app

Premature babies

No app covers premature babies milestone

dangerous misinformation

I like this app and consider it useful for its kick counting tool, but several times I have seen information tidbits on it that simply are not true. For example, the other day I took a poll on the app and it told me that if I was out of breath, it meant my baby wasn’t getting enough oxygen. That is verifiably false. The baby receives oxygen from the placenta, even if the mother’s diaphragm is suppressed by the uterus. I take all the information on this app with a grain of salt and would encourage others to do the same.

Love

Love this app. Very useful.

Not for me

Has a lot of great stuff just not what I was looking for!

Woke & Vegan Agenda

Every article is pushing for me to stop eating meat, stop drinking milk, stop eating animal products and eat SOY 😂 Get off your vegan agenda, especially when it comes to pregnancy where proper nutrition is extremely vital to mom and baby. Also, we’re women giving birth… not “folks”. So many lesbian pictures too. It’s so woke it’s gross.

Biology is king

I’m a “pregnant person” now? No, I’m a woman. How can I trust an app that disregards BASIC biological facts? Yeah, I’m good. I’ll find another app.

Favorite pregnancy app

This is my favorite pregnancy app compared to all others. This one you can ask questions to other pregnant women and relate. Best part is it’s free! I used it with my first 6 years ago and thought it got removed but I’ve found it again thankfully. Oh yes it also gives you DAILY updates on pregnancy day by day. I love it! Highly recommend it. Hope this helps someone else

Used to be great now riddled with ads

I used Ovia during my first pregnancy and I LOVED it. It was so informative and helpful (and still is) but now there is so much ad spam and more visual clutter to the app that I am going to stop using it.

So detailed!

I love it so far! Love how detailed it is. One thing I recommend is having a widget for it, that would just be A+++ for me😊

Not impressed

The quality of the articles is sub-par, there are too many ads, and some of the baby size comparisons seem strange or off. Not really sure why there are so many 5 star reviews.

Community feature needs to go

Reading a lot of the comments and I see most of them are from two years or more ago. Then I see others are complaining about the community as well. The community section is a little draining. Not only are most the mothers on it negative or misleading they tend to try to give out medical advice that surpasses their own medical expertise. I’m newly expecting and just downloaded the app because I had Ovia to track my period and loved it. I ended up getting pregnant and said I might as well continue but today I decided to delete the app because I really am tired of the community. Anonymous people who have so much to say it’s worst than social media honestly. Want to track your pregnancy with knowledge versus opinion or even ridicule. Just downloaded what to expect has higher ratings and more ratings we shall see!

Why does it need my state..

You don’t need my location information to tell me how far along I am in my pregnancy. Deleted immediately. No one should use this app.

Great app for pregnancy

This app was my go to app for both pregnancies. It helped me track my symptoms and gave suggestions based on those symptoms. The only modification I’d like to see made to this app is having some way to report a planned or unplanned c section. It would have been so helpful to receive more specific information about preparing for a c section and what to expect for recovery. Overall, the app is user friendly and covers the basics.

Info is good, verbiage is offensive.

I found it very offensive that Ovia uses the terms “pregnant folks” and “pregnant parent” in reference to pregnant women.

Flippin Fantastical

We couldn’t use any other application to the progression of our baby. Absolutely the best ever.

Great app

I love this app there a lot of people with great advice on questions you have. I stopped googling and started asking the other moms on this app for help and they have been more then helpful I really appreciate this app !

Daily tips are very oddly written

My husband and I laugh at how odd the daily tips are worded/written. Poor grammar and just odd word choices, as if they’re written by someone that is still learning English

Love this app

I absolutely love this app, the message board is so fun and the calendar is super accessible and easy to use.

Best pregnancy app, but could be better

Overall, this is a great app with a variety of useful health tracking tools and interesting content. My one complaint is that the content can sometimes be patronizing. I’m an intelligent adult—talk to me like one! There’s also a HUGE emphasis on weight. We all know excessive weight gain isn’t good. We don’t need constant reminders not to go crazy eating cupcakes (yes, eating cupcakes was a real example provided in warning about diet). I would recommend that women with an ED history steer clear of this one.

Loved!!

Kept me sane during the ups and downs of pregnancy!! The updates were amazing and the articles provided were so useful in preparing myself.

Download

I wish there was more stars to rate with. Hands down best pregnancy app. So knowledgeable, helpful, and caring. You won’t need to look any where else.

Birthing person

I’m not a birthing person- thanks
